Comprehensive Eye Check-Up

A detailed eye check up is done for every patient visiting our centre. This includes vision check with glass prescription, eye evaluation with retina check up and intra-ocular pressure measurements. Special focus on detection of squints and lazy eye for children is provided at our centre.

Cataract Surgery

Cataract is the leading cause of blindness in India. Cataract develops when the transparent lens become cloudy and opaque leading to decreased vision. Pediatric Eye care and Surgery

Children are vulnerable to various eye problems and many complaints go unnoticed by parents or teachers in school. At Garuda Eye Care we provide complete eye evaluation for children. This includes correction of refractive errors, lazy eye, squints, pediatric cataracts, red eyes (conjunctivitis), stye, blocked tear ducts, retinopathy of prematurity and eyelid problems.

Squint Correction

Squint or Cross eyes is considered lucky in various parts of India. This is one the frequent problems in children and adults causing poor vision and reduced stereopsis or 3D vision. Treatment of Lazy eye

Lazy eye or Amblyopia happens when poor vision in a child is not corrected at an early age. various eye problems like refractive errors, cataracts, squints can cause amblyopia. Corrected by patching exercises, binocular vision therapy and correction of the underlying cause of subnormal vision. Talk to our ophthalmologist to know more.

Refractive Procedure

Refractive procedures are done to make the patient spectacle free. At Garuda Eye Care we offer ICL (implantable contact lenses) to make you glass free. ICL has several advantages over other refractive procedures and can be implanted in patients with high refractive errors. Contact our centre to learn more about ICL.

Oculoplasty

We at Garuda Eye Care offer various procedures for eye lid disorders like droopy eyes, lump over lids, malposition of eyelids excessive blinking of eyelids and disorders of tear ducts.

Diabetic Retinopathy

Diabetic eye screening is performed for all patients with diabetes at our centre. Early detection of retinopathy and timely management can prevent irreversible complications to the eye. If you are a diabetic, do visit your nearest ophthalmologist for a retina check up.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma damages the optic nerve and reduces vision, often without early symptoms. It can result from high eye pressure, injury, or genetics. Since the damage is irreversible, regular eye checkups are essential—especially after age 40 or if you’re at risk. Consult your eye doctor to learn more.

When should I bring my child for a first eye check?

Before age 3 — or earlier if you notice squinting, head tilting, eye rubbing, or your child sitting too close to screens. Many childhood vision problems are fully correctable when caught early.

Is cataract surgery painful?

Completely painless and injection-free at Garuda Eye Care. Performed under topical anaesthesia (eye drops only) in 15–20 minutes. Most patients see clearly within 24–48 hours and resume normal activities within a week.

When is the right time for cataract surgery?

When vision starts affecting daily life — reading, driving, recognising faces. Waiting too long makes surgery more complex and recovery longer. Age alone is not the deciding factor.

What is the difference between a squint and a lazy eye?

A squint (strabismus) is a misalignment of the eyes. A lazy eye (amblyopia) is reduced vision in one eye, often caused by an untreated squint or large power difference. Both are treatable, especially in childhood.

Can squint be corrected without surgery?

In many cases, yes – especially in children. Glasses, patching, and vision therapy can correct squint without surgery. Surgery is recommended when the squint is large or doesn’t respond to other treatments.

Is ICL better than LASIK?

ICL is preferred for high eye power (above -8D or +3D), thin corneas, or dry eyes. ICL is also reversible. A pre-surgical evaluation will determine which is right for you.

How often should a diabetic get their eyes checked?

At least once a year — even if vision seems normal. Get a baseline retina check done immediately on a new diabetes diagnosis.

Does Garuda Eye Care see newborns?

Yes. We screen newborns at risk of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). The treatment window for ROP is very narrow — contact us immediately if your baby was born premature.
